A Fatah activist states that while her party (headed by PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas) views “peace” as “one of the strategies”, it does not rule out the armed struggle. Concerning negotiations with Israel, she says, “Our goal has never been peace. Peace is a means; the goal is Palestine.”
