Press release of the Zionist Organization of America (ZOA), January 26, 2001
The official newspaper of Yasir Arafat’s Palestinian
Authority has cited the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, the Czarist
Russian anti-Semitic forgery, as “proof” that Israel is trying to control
the international media. This is further evidence that the Palestinian
Arabs and their leaders do not merely oppose Israel, but hate Jews in
general, according to the Zionist Organization of America (ZOA), which
monitors the PA’s actions and statements.
An article in the official PA daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadidah on January
25, 2001, stated:
“Morale and psychological manipulation has a significant place in the minds
of Jews, and formed a very important source of strength in the Hebrew State.
Dis-information has been one of the bases of morale and psychological
manipulation among the Israelis, and propaganda played an important role in
the psychological prodding of world political leaders to support Zionism.
The Protocols of the Elders of Zion did not ignore the importance of using
propaganda to promote the Zionist goals. In the second protocol is written:
“Through the newspapers we will have the means to propel and to influence.”
In the twelfth protocol: “Our governments will hold the reins of most of
the newspapers, and through this plan we will possess the primary
power to turn to public opinion.”

ZOA National President Morton A. Klein said: “The fact that
Arafat’s official newspaper continues to engage in crude anti-Semitism when
the Israeli government is headed by the Labor Party, just as they made such
remarks when the government was headed by the Likud, shows that the
Palestinian Arabs are still consumed by hatred of Jews and Israel,
regardless of which party is in power in Israel. The problem is not
Israel’s policies, or Israel’s leaders–the problem is that Arafat has successfully
developed an entire culture based on hatred and violence against Jews.”
